Requirements
- Entry-level candidates should have previous experience in sales and relevant education or training
- Familiarity with the dealership’s vehicle types and brands is also necessary for this role
- Candidates with more than 5 years of experience and have keen sales abilities, familiarity with selling particular vehicles and a network of previous customers
- For luxury or specialized dealerships, candidates should have previous sales experience, either with those vehicles, other vehicles or in other environments
Responsibilities
- Sells new vehicles at a profit to the dealership, while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Meets dealership sales goals
- Greets customer and determines make, type, and quality of vehicle desired
- Explains features and demonstrates operation of vehicle in showroom or on demonstration drive
- Suggests optional equipment for customer to purchase
- Computes and es sales price, including tax, trade-in allowance, and discount
- Completes paperwork accompanying vehicle sales, including but not limited to, preparing sales slip or sales contract
- Researches availability of models and optional equipment
- Engages in business development
- Addresses customer concerns
- Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays
