Job Description

CMH Mazda & Volvo Menlyn is seeking an experienced and results-driven Service Manager to lead and manage the aftersales operations of both the Mazda and Volvo franchises. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, workshop efficiency, profitability, team development, and compliance with manufacturer standards. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage service advisors, technicians, parts integration, customer satisfaction, and operational performance while maintaining the premium standards expected of both brands.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Service Management role within the automotive industry.
  • Premium or alternative premium brand experience will be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of automotive workshop operations, warranty processes, and aftersales best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven track record in achieving customer satisfaction and financial targets.
  • Effective conflict resolution and customer relationship management skills.
  • Computer literacy with dealership management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid South African driver's licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Service Department.
  • Ensure achievement of workshop productivity, efficiency, and profitability targets.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and improve CSI/OSAT performance.
  • Monitor workshop loading, technician productivity, and labour sales.
  • Ensure compliance with Mazda, Volvo, and CMH operational standards.
  • Manage warranty administration and manufacturer compliance requirements.
  • Develop and mentor service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Effectively handle customer concerns and escalated complaints.
  • Monitor departmental financial performance, budgets, and expenses.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Department to optimize parts availability and workshop efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional workshop environment.
