Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Qualified Motor Mechanic / Technician (Trade Test Certificate – Merseta/Olifantsfontein or equivalent).
  • Ford brand training and certification (advantageous).
  • At least 2–3 years experience as a qualified Technician at a dealership.
  • Valid driver’s license – essential.
  • Strong technical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle diagnostics, mechanical and electrical repairs, and routine servicing.
  • Accurately follow Ford manufacturer repair and maintenance standards.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and fault-finding to determine repair requirements.
  • Complete job cards, record parts used and provide feedback to the Service Advisor.
  • Work closely with the Workshop Controller and Service Manager to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Attend Ford training sessions to stay updated with the latest technical knowledge.
  • Provide excellent customer service when required, including explaining vehicle issues in a professional manner.
  • Ensure all work is completed within set timeframes and to quality standards.
  • Adhere to all dealership and manufacturer safety, warranty, and compliance policies.
